The restoration of the Library Malabo led to the restructuring and redevelopment of an old colonial building to which a new body with the reading rooms was annexed.

The recent construction, with a central double volume section, is made entirely of glass and metal and is home to the actual library which features open shelving. The administrative offices and computer labs are located in the wing instead of the original building.
